Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to launch the Mukhyamantri Bus Seva in Kotia area of Koraput district to strengthen connectivity and public transport in the region,
Describing Kotia as a integral part of Odisha, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena said the state is committed to the development of Kotia despite Andhra Pradesh’s repeated intrusions and claims over area.
Stating that the Odisha government is taking concrete steps to counter such claims and ensure the integrated development of Kotia, the Minister said the Transport Department will soon launch Mukhyamantri Bus Seva in the area to improve connectivity.
Noting that the region is endowed with mineral reserves, Jena said one of the hills in Kotia is popularly known as the ‘Golden Hill’ due to its mineral richness. The Mines Department is also taking steps to identify and make optimal use of these resources, said Jena, who also holds Mines portfolio.
