Bhubaneswar: Thundershower coupled with lightning and gusty wind is likely to lash 22 districts of Odisha on Friday night, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
In a message issued at 10.10 pm, the IMD sounded a yellow warning for Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bhadrak, Balasore, Bargarh, Jajpur, Nabarangpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jajpur, Angul, Nayagarh, Boudh, Deogarh, and Koraput.
Thundershower with lightning and wind speed reaching 40 kmph may occur at some places in these districts in next three hours, it said.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
