Berhampur: Badabazaar police here on Sunday arrested 17 persons on charges of gambling.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house at Gopala Gauda Sahi here and arrested the gamblers from the spot. Those arrested were found gambling and betting. Police seized cash to the tune of Rs 2,20,000 from them.
Earlier on July 16, six persons were arrested during a raid on an illegal gambling den at Bhanjanagar in the Ganjam district. Six motorcycles, five cell phones and Rs 1, 65, 500 in cash were recovered from their possession.
