Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs. 2,655 crore on the opening day of SEMICON India 2025.
“I had the privilege to inaugurate the Odisha Pavilion, where we signed MoUs worth Rs 2,655 crore with TopTrack Hi-Tech PCB Pvt Ltd (Rs 1,005 crore) and Sancode Technologies Limited in technological partnership with Silicon Connect, Inari Amertron Berhad & APIRC Penang (Rs 1,650 crore), while engaging with global majors like Intel, Micron, Western Digital, Renesas, and Siemens,” Chief Minister Mohan Majhi informed on his X handle on Wednesday.
The CM further noted that these engagements were a decisive step in positioning Odisha as a preferred global destination for the semiconductor and advanced electronics industry. “With landmark projects under the India Semiconductor Mission, along with the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing & Fabless Policy 2025 and the Electronics Component Manufacturing (ECM) Policy 2025, we are committed to building a world-class ecosystem for innovation, manufacturing, and investment in semiconductors and electronics,” he added.
According to reports, President and CEO of SEMI Ajit Manocha praised Odisha’s semiconductor policies and invited the Chief Minister to Semicon Japan later this year.
The Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT) Department is participating in SEMICON India 2025, being held from September 2 to 4 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, through a dedicated Odisha Pavilion.
To accelerate growth, the Odisha government last month approved the Electronics Component Manufacturing (ECM) Policy 2025, offering additional capital subsidies — 25% for the first 10 large-scale projects and 10% for subsequent ones — over and above the Centre’s incentives. It also includes land allocation, rental assistance, electricity duty exemptions for 10 years and power tariff reimbursements.
As part of its Vision 2036 and 2047, the state has also announced plans to expand the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar and establish three new campuses focused on IT/ITeS, semiconductors, aerospace and marine engineering. Nearly 5,500 acre of land in and around the capital city for development of IT parks, towers and electronic manufacturing facilities under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
