Bhubaneswar: Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm activity is likely to lash several parts of Odisha for three more days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday.
With the low-pressure area gradually moving away, the intensity of rainfall is expected to decrease. However, thunderstorm activity, lightning and gusty surface wind with 30-40 kmph speed will continue this week. The weather agency has issued yellow warning for different districts till the morning of September 17.
In next 24 hours, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely to occur in Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts.
This apart, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are predicted in 25 districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.
On September 15, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds may occur in districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh.
On September 16-17, similar weather conditions are predicted in districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj
