New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday hit out at Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi over his shoutout to Gen Z on social media, with BJP MP Nishikant Dubey accusing him of attempting to provoke unrest in the country.
“Rahul Gandhi wants to instigate civil war in India… He is working with the Soros Foundation to divide the nation… If Gen Z rises in India, Congress and its allies would be seen absconding from the nation,” Dubey said, as reported by ANI. He added that Gen Z symbolised the next generation and their aspirations to shape the country and change governments, recalling the Anna Hazare-Arvind Kejriwal anti-corruption movement and the 2012 Nirbhaya protests. “During the Nirbhaya case, one lakh people were on the streets in 2013, but the BJP decided not to instigate violence,” he said.

Dubey alleged that Gandhi was trying to draw parallels with protests in Nepal and Bangladesh, where youth uprisings challenged dynastic politics and corruption. “At both places, the Gen Z was against nepotism and ‘Parivarvaad’… Where is the ‘Parivarvaad’? It has been in the Gandhi family for decades,” he remarked, adding that all major scams had been linked to the Congress. He further argued that if Indian Gen Z were to demand constitutional changes, it could risk destabilising the country. “Bangladeshi Gen Z wanted to make an Islamic nation, and Nepali Gen Z wants a Hindu Rashtra… India is a secular nation, but if the Gen Z demands a Hindu Rashtra, what would you do then?” he asked.
“Not just Congress, its allies too are dynastic parties. Rahul Gandhi wants to instigate civil war in India. Using the same civil war, Rahul Gandhi’s grandfather, Nehru, divided the nation… He is working with the Soros Foundation to divide the nation. The BJP stands with the Gen Z. The Congress and its allies would be seen absconding from the nation,” Dubey added.
Rahul Gandhi’s post on X had appealed to Gen Z and students to help defend the Constitution, uphold democracy, and stop alleged “vote theft.” He alleged irregularities in voter rolls, claiming names had been deleted using centralised software, particularly citing examples in Karnataka’s Aland constituency. While the Congress has used the “vote chori” charge to build political momentum, the Election Commission has rejected such claims, calling them baseless, and the BJP has countered that Congress in fact won the Aland seat despite its allegations.
