Bhubaneswar: In a significant crackdown ahead of the festive season, police seized illegal fire crackers worth around Rs 1 crore during raids on houses and godowns of two businessmen at Biramitrapur’s Gole Bazaar in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.

The joint operation by Biramitrapur and Sundaragrh police began last evening and lasted for over 12 hours. It was part of statewide ‘Agni’ campaign, aimed at curbing illegal storage, transportation, and sale of explosives and firecrackers before Diwali.
