Keonjhar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Tuesday visited his home district Keonjhar on the occasion of Maha Ashtami and offered prayers to Maa Durga at Jhumpura Puja Mandap.
The Cm participated in the sacred rituals and prayed for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of Odisha.
Majhi also interacted with people at his residence at Raikala. He personally received grievance petitions from citizens and held discussions on various local and state issues. “I am a son of this soil, one among you. You are my strength, and I remain forever indebted to your affection and trust,” the CM said, expressing his deep bond with the people.
The Chief Minister departed from Bhubaneswar by air at 11 am and landed at Raisuan airstrip from where he travelled by road to Raikala. After completing rituals in his village, he headed for Jhumpara Durga Puja Mandap.
Following the puja, he will proceeded to Keonjhar Circuit House.
His evening schedule includes visits to several prominent Durga Puja mandaps in Keonjhar town. He will also attend the Durga Puja celebrations organised by the Gujarati Samaj.
The day’s programme will conclude with an overnight stay at the Circuit House.
