Bhubaneswar: Though the cyclonic circulation over north Odisha has become less marked, the state may continue to experience heavy rain till October 12, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
According to the midday bulletin, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur at one or two places in Gajapati district on October 9.
There is also a warning of thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh , andhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
On October 10, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may lash one or two places in the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj. Thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may also occur in Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Koraput districts.
On October 11, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may continue in Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput and Malkangiri. There is also a warning of thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Rayagada.

Thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may also occur in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts.
While light to moderate rain may continue in South Odisha during the subsequent week, dry weather is likely in the nothern districts of the state, it added.
