New Delhi: Pakistan has started rebuilding terror launchpads just across the Line of Control (LOC) that were destroyed during Operation Sindoor. Movement has been noticed in some of these facilities, security agencies have said.

Officials said that facilities that were destroyed in Luni, Putwal, Tipu Post, Jamil Post, Umranwali, Chaprar Forward, Chhota Chak, and Janglora have been reconstructed. There are fewer than 100 terrorists in each.

The rebuilt camps, located in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and adjoining areas, are smaller and technologically advanced, designed to evade surveillance and survive airstrikes, sources claimed.

Terror outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen, and The Resistance Front continue to use these launchpads to infiltrate Jammu and Kashmir and carry out strikes. These camps have the full backing from the Pakistani military, ISI, and government, highlighting Islamabad’s role in sustaining cross-border terrorism.

BSF IG Shashank Anand had spoken about these camps recently and said: “After Operation Sindoor, we have accelerated the use of modern technology, including drones and artificial intelligence. We closely monitor all activity and coordinate with other agencies whenever suspicious movement is detected. Seasonal challenges, especially in winter, require dynamic patrolling and adaptive strategies.”

This is the time when special surveillance is required, officials said. Terrorists attempt to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir at this time before the snow blocks the routes. The terror launchpads are a major irritant as they have to be constantly monitored.
