Mumbai: After facing criticism for being biased towards Amaal Mallik, ‘Bigg Boss 19’ host, Salman Khan is now facing backlash for his negative remarks about Farrhana Bhatt.
During a recent task in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house, slamming Farrhana for spreading negativity, Ashnoor Kaur said, “She’s spreading negativity in the house; I honestly don’t know how her journey outside will be.”
Soon, host Salman jumped into the conversation, and took a dig at Farrhana, stating she is the kind of daughter-in-law people are looking for their sons.
“Jab inki baat shaadi vyah tak jaayegi toh gharwale puchenge ladki kaisi hai? Oh ho gaaliyan bakti hai, jhagde karti hai, plate todti hai, yahi bahu chahiye humko. Bache ki zindagi barbaad kardegi. Isi peace activist ki talaash thi humko aapne bache ke liye, (When she will start getting alliances, people will ask how is the girl? Oh ho! She using slang language, she fights, breaks plates, we want this girl as out daughter-in-law. She will ruin our son’s life. We were looking for this peace activist for our son,)” Salman said sarcastically.
Salman’s negative remarks about Farrhana didn’t go down well with the netizens, who slammed him for his “misogynistic” tone.
One social media user shared, “Salman’s comment on Farhana gave me the ick today…If it’s supposed to be taken as all jokes only, well why don’t they joke about the male contestants this way then? Why are such comments only made towards female contestants. It was just lazy writing by the script writers.”
“Exactly. I thought the same, what’s their obsession with Farhana’s rishta?” another questioned.
