Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lighting and gusty surface wind 30-40
kmph may continue in 16 districts of Odisha, including twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, till 4.30 pm on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Puri, Kendrapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur districts.
People have advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, the well-marked low pressure (remnants of severe cyclonic storm Montha) over east Vidarbha and adjoining south Chhattisgarh is expected to move nearly northwards towards East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining north Chhattisgarh and weaken into a low pressure area during the next 24 hours.
