New Delhi: There is more trouble for the Al-Falah University, which is at the centre of NIA’s investigation into the deadly Red Fort car blast.

Its membership already suspended by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the Faridabad-based university in Haryana faces two FIRs registered by Delhi Police Crime Branch.

One FIR pertains to allegations of cheating, and the second one under sections related to forgery. The police cases came after the University Grants Commission (UGC) filed a complaint against Al-Falah University.

Also, Delhi Police issued a notice to Al-Falah University, seeking several documents as part of the probe into the ‘white collar’ terror module — allegedly supported by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind — busted last week.

Around 2,900 kilograms of explosives was seized from the premises of Dr Muzammil Shakeel, who worked at the university.

Another Al-Falah employee, Dr Shaheen Shahid, was allegedly tasked with setting up the women’s wing of JeM in India. She was arrested from Lucknow after a rifle and live cartridges were recovered from her car.

Dr Umar Nabi, another doctor believed to be part of the terror module, carried out the blast near Red Fort on November 10, killing 13 people and injuring 21 others.

Two more doctors of Al-Falah and a cleric of the mosque inside the university premises have been detained over their links to Dr Umar.
