New Delhi: Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum recently faced backlash for draping the Indian flag across his shoulders during his concert in Kathmandu.

Addressing the controversy, Talha took to his X handle and wrote, “My heart has no place for hate. My art has no borders. If me raising an Indian flag sparks controversy so be it. I’ll do it again.. will never care about the media, the war mongering governments and their propagandas. Urdu Rap is and will always be borderless.”

When Talha was performing his popular diss track ‘Kaun Talha’, aimed at Indian Gully Gang rapper Naezy, a fan threw the Indian Tricolour towards him.

The Pakistani rapper caught hold of the flag and swung it across his shoulders.

In no time, the viral moment from Talha’s concert started doing the rounds on social media, sparking a wave of criticism from his Pakistani fans, who called his gesture insensitive after India’s Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor not only strained relations between the two countries, but also led to a ban on the Pakistani artists and their music on major platforms including Spotify, Instagram and YouTube in India.
