Meerut: Muskan, prime accused in the sensational Meerut “blue drum” murder case, gave birth to a baby girl on Monday. Interestingly, the child was born on the birthday of Muskan’s husband Saurabh Rajput, whom she is accused to have murdered.
According to authorities, the child was born on Monday evening at the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College and Hospital in Meerut.
Muskan was rushed to the hospital around 11.30 pm on Sunday after her labour pain began, senior jail superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma confirmed. Doctors said that Muskan remained stable throughout the day and was under continuous observation. Security has been tightened around the hospital.
Sharma said that Muskan’s family has been informed, but nobody visited her at the hospital.
The Saurabh Rajput murder was one of the most sensational cases on 2025. Muskan and her lover Sahil Shukla are accused of murdering him on March 4.
Rajput, who worked abroad, had returned home to his wife and daughter (Muskan’s first child). On the fateful day, Muskan and Shukla allegedly spiked his drink and then stabbed him to death. They then dismembered the body, stuffed it into a blue drum and poured wet cement into it.
The two then travelled to Himachal Pradesh to try and throw Rajput’s relatives off the track. When the police went looking for Rajput, it was his daughter who pointed to the drum and said that her father was inside.
The police had to drill through the set cement to get to the body parts. Investigation revealed that Muskan had reportedly been planning the murder since November 2023.
Authorities claimed that both Muskan and Shukla were drug addicts and Rajput was killed because he was an obstacle in their relationship. Both were arrested on March 18. Muskan had allegedly admitted the crime to her family prior to her arrest.
