Nadia: Addressing a virtual rally in Bengal’s Nadia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress party of shielding illegal immigrants. Earlier in the day, the PM had failed to reach the rally site due to dense fog, reported NDTV.
According to reports, his helicopter returned to Kolkata airport after failing to land at the Taherpur helipad due to reduced visibility. The reports claimed that his helicopter hovered over the helipad for some time before taking a U-turn.
The PM alleged that Trinamool Congress backs the infiltrators and that’s why they are opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. He urged the people of Bengal, which will go to polls next year, to give an opportunity to a double-engine government led by the BJP.
TMC’s misgovernance has stalled West Bengal’s progress. People are now looking to the BJP with renewed hope. Addressing a rally in Nadia district virtually. https://t.co/uNstvInC08
