Hyderabad/Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the ‘Statue of Equality’ in Hyderabad and offered prayers to the 11th-century philosopher-saint Ramanujacharya, known for his groundbreaking teachings on social equality and inclusiveness.
He was accompanied by Odisha’s Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and other senior officials.
During the visit on Saturday, Majhi met Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimanta Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji and engaged in discussions on India’s rich spiritual traditions, inclusive philosophies, and and the continued relevance of Ramanujacharya’s teachings in contemporary society.
The seer extended his blessings to the Chief Minister and conveyed best wishes for the peace, progress, and prosperity of people of Odisha.
Reflecting on the experience, the CM described the 216-foot-tall monumental tribute to Ramanujacharya as a magnificent emblem of India’s spiritual heritage. He further stated that it was a timeless reminder of the values of social justice, inclusiveness, and human dignity that the saint championed, adding that these principles continue to inspire Odisha’s pursuit of balanced development, social harmony, and people-centric governance.
Majhi also released an Odia devotional bhajan dedicated to Sri Ramanujacharya, penned by Sri Sri Tridandi Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji, on the occasion.
The CM was on a two-day visit to the neighbouring state for an investors’ summit to attract fresh investments and position Odisha as a preferred industrial destination.
Earlier in the day, he visited the Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and discussed collaboration opportunities for Odisha’s MSMEs in defence manufacturing. “A core objective of this visit was to identify specific avenues where MSMEs of Odisha can play a supportive role. The chief minister emphasised that Odisha is positioning itself as a destination for high-technology manufacturing. He said the state is on its way to set up two semiconductor units which could contribute significantly to the defence production ecosystem,” TNIE reported quoting official sources.
