Mumbai: Just three days before the film hits theatres, the makers of Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Pandey’s ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ released a new version of the film’s iconic song ‘Saat Samundar Paar’ 2.0.
Sung by Karan Nawani, the new version of the s energetic and upbeat 1992 song starring Divya Bharti, features Kartik grooving inside a night club, as Ananya patiently waits for him.
While the lyrics and tune of Saat Samundar Par 2.0 are almost similar to the original one, the energy of the young actors left netizens disappointed.
One user commented, “Poore gaane ka satyanaash kar diya (They ruined the whole song).”
Another observed, “One more childhood banger ruined.”
One user posted, “So bad, total opposite to the original which could make even a drunken guy dance.”
“Does anyone remember the late Divya Bharti every time they hear this song ….got a quick flashback, can’t beat the original,” said another fan.
Sharing a video from Ananya and Ahaan Panday’s dance performance at Alanna Panday’s wedding, one netizen wrote, “Ahaan Panday’s dance was so much better.”
“This is like the Hollywood studio execs suddenly using their big brains and thinking that making Joker a musical works. Utterly terrible idea of a composition when the original is still so embedded in our minds,” remarked another user.

The original ‘Saat Samundar Paar’ song is from the film ‘Vishwatma’, starring Sunny Deol and Divya Bharti in lead roles.
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri’ will hit theatres on December 25.
