It was a thrilling year for television buffs as popular and much-loved actors such as Smriti Irani, Mahi Vij, Sharad Kelkar, Shilpa Shinde and many others made an epic comeback on the small screen after a long hiatus.
Here’s a look at some of the popular television stars who returned with a bang this year:
1. Smriti Irani
After 15 long years, actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani made a grand return as Tulsi Virani in Ektaa Kapoor’s ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ reboot.
Fans became nostalgic on seeing their beloved Tulsi back on small screen, and welcome her back willingly.
2. Sharad Kelkar
After staying away from small screen for nearly 8 years, actor Sharad Kelkar returned to TV as Aryavardhan in ‘Tumm Se Tumm Tak’.
His fans were thrilled to see the actor’s signature intensity and charm, which kept them hooked.
3. Mahhi Vij
After a short break and turmoil in her personal life, actress Mahhi Vij returned to television with ‘Seher Hone Ko Hai’. She plays a fearless mother in the sitcom, flooring fans with her strong, emotional, and totally relatable character.
In October, there were reports of her divorce from Jay Bhanushali, but Mahhi appealed to fans not to interfere in her personal life and said that they would sort it out. Mahhi, who underwent IVF, gave birth to a daughter.
4. Shilpa Shinde
Actress Shilpa Shinde made a much-awaited comeback as Angoori bhabhi in the popular comedy show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0’ after almost nine years.
5. Gaurav Chopra
After a gap of 5 years, actor Gaurav Chopra returned to television with ‘Pushpa Impossible’. He plays Professor Rajvir Shastri, a stubborn but honest lawyer in the sitcom.
Fans were excited to see him add depth and intensity to the daily soap.
6. Vandana Pathak
Known for her hilarious performance in the classic show ‘Khichdi’, Vandana Pathak stayed away from acting for nearly 6 years. She made a comeback this year with ‘Tumm Se Tumm Tak’.
7. Riddhima Pandit
After a break of 5 years, actress Riddhima Pandit returned with ‘Uff Yeh Love Hai Mushkil’, in which she plays Shabir Ahluwalia’s ex-wife.
Fans were excited to see her charm and screen presence in the new story.
