Bhubaneswar: The Odisha AM/NS India Kho Kho High Performance Centre (HPC) celebrated the achievement of its 13-year-old athlete, Subham Subhrajit Dalai, at the 17th Sub Junior State Kho Kho Championship 2025.
Representing Team Puri in the Boys’ category, Subham contributed significantly to the squad’s commanding performance that led them to clinch the title in the championship, held from December 26 to 28 at Tirtol in Jagatsinghpur district.
Subham’s achievement reflects the structured training, discipline, and technical development imparted at the HPC. His inclusion in the championship-winning squad highlights the centre’s continued commitment to nurturing young talent and strengthening Odisha’s Kho Kho ecosystem from the grassroots level.
Congratulating Subham, Sanjeev Sharma, Head Coach, Odisha AM/NS India Kho Kho HPC, said, “Our vision has always been to build a strong foundation for Kho Kho in Odisha by identifying and nurturing talent at an early stage. Odisha AM/NS India Kho Kho High Performance Centre (HPC) is a collaborative initiative between ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) and the Government of Odisha to nurture Kho Kho talent in the state. While Government of Odisha has built and maintains the infrastructure of the HPC, AM/NS India operates and manages the HPC, and trains the Kho Kho players. It also coaches and develops judges for the sport. The primary goal of this establishment is to elevate Odisha into a premier hub of Kho Kho excellence in India.
