Mumbai: Riding high on the blockbuster success of his latest spy thriller Dhurandhar, which has crossed the Rs 1,100 crore mark worldwide, Ranveer Singh is set to revisit his roots as Yash Raj Films’ 2010 romantic comedy Band Baaja Baaraat returns to the big screen.
Cinema chain PVR INOX, in collaboration with Yash Raj Films, announced the re-release of the Maneesh Sharma-directed film on January 16, marking 15 years since its original debut.
The timeless rom-com, which launched Ranveer Singh’s career opposite Anushka Sharma, will allow a new generation of audiences to experience the vibrant Delhi wedding chaos on the silver screen. The story follows two ambitious wedding planners, Bittoo Sharma (Ranveer Singh) and Shruti Kakkar (Anushka Sharma), who start a business together while navigating friendship, romance, and the high-stakes world of grand Indian weddings.
PVR INOX shared the exciting news on their official Instagram handle: “Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, and a rom-com that never gets old. Band Baaja Baaraat is back on the big screen – catch the fun all over again! #BandBaajaBaaraat re-releasing at PVR INOX on Jan 16!”
Lead strategist of PVR INOX, Niharika Bijli, called ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ one of the rare “films that never loses its charm”.
“It remains fun and immensely relatable, no matter when—or with whom—you watch it. Re-releasing the film is our way of celebrating modern storytelling that continues to resonate across generations. With its timeless music, sharp humour, and deeply lived-in performances, the film captures the spirit of friendship, love, ambition, and life just as it is. We’re excited to bring it back for a new generation to discover its magic on the big screen,” she said.
