Mumbai: Akshaye Khanna is on cloud nine after the massive success of ‘Dhurandhar’, and his impromptu dance moves on the song ‘FA9LA’ which made him an overnight sensation.
Amid the viral craze for the ‘Dhurandhar’ actor, an old interview of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, talking about Akshaye’s weird hold on women, has resurfaced online.
Revealing how the girls he tried to date rejected him as they were fans of Akshaye, Nawazuddin said, “I want to share this one thing with everyone. Before I was married, I was trying very hard to court someone. I would try to talk to girls, but they all used to reject me. So I asked all of them, ‘What kind of a man do you like?’ and I am honestly telling you that all those girls were his (Akshaye’s) fans.”
Nawazuddin, who was promoting the 2017 film ‘Mom’ with Akshaye, continued, “I used to ask them, ‘What’s so special about him?’ Someone would talk about his smile, or someone would start talking about his eyes. He had a weird hold on women, and he had a big fan following.”
“All of those fans, and everyone else, want Akshaye Khanna to work again. He doesn’t show up a lot, and he is very choosy about his work. Hamari dua hai (it’s our wish) that he does more films,” Nawaz said, while adding that Akshaye should do more films for his fans.
The Aditya Dhar-directed ‘Dhurandhar’, led by Ranveer Singh, continues its phenomenal theatrical run even after crossing the Rs 1000-crore mark at the box office.
The film, inspired by real life incidents including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, and developments linked to Operation Lyari, revolves around the journey of an Indian spy who infiltrates Karachi’s criminal and political underworld.
The film features a powerful ensemble cast including Ranveer, Akshaye, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles, alongside Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun and Danish Pandor.
