Bhubaneswar: As part of the Odisha government’s efforts to provide responsive and inclusive governance, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday held 16th grievance hearing session and heard to the problems of people from different parts of the state in Bhubaneswar

The hearing, held at the Grievance Cell in Unit-2 in Bhubaneswar, was the first session of 2026. After hearing their grievances, he directed officials to resolve them quickly.

Several senior Ministers, including Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Nayak, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and School & Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, were present during the hearing.

“The unwavering trust and confidence of the people give us immense strength to serve them continuously. This government is a ‘people’s government’. We’re committed to bridging the gap between administration and people, making governance more accessible. Public grievance hearing, transparent administration, and speedy action are our priorities. We’re working to ensure no one is deprived of justice,” Majhi said in a post on social media.

After the hearing session, he stated that more than 56,028 people have participated and multiple individuals often approach the administration for a single grievance. During the ongoing hearing, grievances from all 30 districts have been registered under the leadership of respective district collectors. The government plans to extend grievance hearings to more locations with the support of collectors and to organise additional hearings in the near future, Majhi said.

Citing official data, the CM said 1,49,418 grievances have been received through the web portal and postal services, out of which 1,30,845 cases, around 88 per cent, have been resolved so far.
In the last 15 phases alone, 12,748 out of 13,358 grievances, or 95 per cent, have been successfully disposed of. Considering the importance of the issue, the Odisha government aims to hold grievance hearings every Monday, around three to four times a month.

Special assistance will also be extended to patients suffering from serious illnesses like cancer, with financial support for treatment to be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Majhi said.
