Patna: Rohini Acharya, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has again hit out against her family members for what she called destroying a “legacy” created through hard work.
“There is no need of outsiders. Our “own” and some conspirators who have been turned into “our new owns” are enough to wipe out signs of those who gave identity and existence to a legacy,” Rohini posted in Hindi on X, without naming anybody.
She has expressed shock that certain elements have come under the “influence” of others to destroy the legacy.
“When a veil drops over conscience, arrogance takes over. Destructive forces then become the eyes, nose and ears…such forces control a person’s thinking and judgment,” she added, as per The Tribune.
Rohini, Acharya, a qualified doctor, who chose to become a homemaker and settled down with her Singapore-based husband, had announced that she was “quitting politics” and severed ties with the family a few months ago.
It was then speculated that she was “unhappy” over the expulsion of Lalu’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, from the party. She seemed unhappy about Tejashwi Yadav’s growing influence over the party.
“I am quitting politics, and I am disowning my family…This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do …and I am taking all the blame,” she had written in her post in November last year.
Sanjay Yadav is the Rajya Sabha MP from RJD and one of the most trusted aides of Tejashwi, while Rameez is said to be Tejashwi’s old friend, hailing from a political family in the adjoining state of Uttar Pradesh.
Rohini, who was in the news for donating a kidney to her father a few years ago, had unsuccessfully contested last year’s Lok Sabha polls from Saran.
The RJD’s seat tally slipped from 75 to 24 in the Bihar Assembly polls last year. Lalu and his family members are also in legal trouble with a Delhi court framing charges against them in the alleged railway jobs for land scam.
