Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor’s intense new avatar in the teaser of his upcoming film ‘O Romeo’, which was dropped early on Saturday, has left social media abuzz.
In the one-minute, 35-second clip, Shahid is seen in a rugged avatar, sporting a full-body tattoo, engaged in hand-to-hand combat and firing in high-intensity sequences.
The teaser also introduces female lead Triptii Dimri, and the rest of the cast including actors Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and Farida Jalal.
Soon after the teaser was unveiled, social media was flooded with reactions.
Shahid’s mother, Neelima Azeem wrote, “Pure ammunition on fire .. what a blast 💥 banging teaser.. can’t wait .. proudest mom 💕🙌🏼🤲🏼🤗😘.”
The actor’s brother Ishaan Khatter commenting, “LET. THEM. COOK. 🗡️🔥”
Echoing similar excitement, one commented, “Man shahid 🥹🔥 I always wanted to see him that loud ❤️.”

Praising Shahid’s consistency, one wrote, “Shahid never disappoints 💀🔥.”

Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, ‘O Romeo’ is touted to be a revenge romance inspired by true events, and the teaser hints at a turbulent emotional journey marked by passion, loss and irreversible choices.
The teaser also sparked speculation over whether the film has been inspired by the real-life underworld saga involving gangster Hussain Ustara, his rival Dawood Ibrahim, and Sapna Didi.

So Shahid is playing Hussain Ustra, a rival of Dawood Ibrahim.
