New Delhi: An Indian defence technology firm, IG Defence has reportedly announced that it has secured orders from both the Indian Army and the Indian Navy for its indigenously developed anti-drone system, aimed at enhancing the armed forces’ ability to counter hostile unmanned aerial threats. IG Defence has evolved from Odisha-based start-up IG Drones, according to a Times of India report.

The system, named the IG T-Shul Pulse Anti-Drone System, is designed to disrupt and neutralise hostile drones and emerging aerial threats through electronic warfare capabilities. It is lightweight, rapidly deployable, and suitable for application by frontline troops, for perimeter security, and for protecting military bases and critical strategic assets, according to a PTI report.

According to the company, the IG T-Shul Pulse offers an effective jamming range of up to two kilometres under line-of-sight and interference-free conditions. The platform is a handheld, electronic-warfare-based counter-drone jammer engineered to provide tactical units with immediate response capabilities in active operational environments.

“The induction of indigenous counter-drone systems such as the IG T-Shul Pulse reflects the Indian Armed Forces’ increasing focus on preparedness against emerging aerial threats. Systems designed and manufactured in India, aligned with operational requirements, strengthen both responsiveness and long-term self-reliance in defence capabilities,” senior vice president of IG Defence Maj Gen R C Padhi, said, as quoted by New Indian Express.

Deliveries and induction of the system are expected to begin in approximately one month, the firm said. IG Defence noted that the order signifies a significant step in strengthening India’s counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities, reflecting the armed forces’ growing reliance on domestically developed technologies under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives.

The company highlighted that the system’s multi-band, directionally controlled electronic denial architecture marks a shift from legacy single-function jammers. By concentrating electronic energy toward the threat axis, the design aims to increase neutralisation effectiveness while reducing electromagnetic spill-over and limiting cyber and electronic attack surfaces—making it suitable for deployment on land and at sea without degrading friendly communications or onboard naval systems.

IG Defence also pointed out that the IG T-Shul Pulse is entirely designed, developed and manufactured in India, with current production capacity in the hundreds and the ability to scale up to meet operational requirements.
