Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha on a five-day official tour starting February 2, during which she will participate in academic, religious, and community engagements across several districts.
The visit underscores her deep connection to the state, her home region, and comes amid heightened preparations by local administrations.
According to reports, the President will arrive in Bhubaneswar on February 2 and spend the night in the state capital. The following day, she will grace the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University in Balasore district as the chief guest. She is expected to deliver the convocation address at the university’s newly established Remuna campus.
Fakir Mohan University Vice-Chancellor Santosh Kumar Tripathy has confirmed that the President will be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony.
On February 4, President Murmu will head to Jajpur district, where she will take part in various programmes and offer prayers at Maa Biraja Temple, one of Odisha’s prominent Shakti Peethas.
She will be in Mayurbhanj district in the final leg of the tour on February 5 and 6. She is scheduled to attend multiple events, including a special visit to Rairangpur, where she will interact with local communities. This segment holds personal significance, as Mayurbhanj is where she was born and began her political journey.
The President’s visit is anticipated to prompt extensive security arrangements and administrative coordination in the districts of Balasore, Jajpur, and Mayurbhanj. Further details on specific programmes are expected to be released soon by the President’s Secretariat.
