Noida/Ahmedabad: Security agencies have gone on high alert after several schools across Ahmedabad and Noida received bomb threats via e-mails, barely days before Republic Day on Friday.
The crime branch of Ahmedabad Police said that apart from spot inspections by Bomb Detection and Disposal units, cyber experts have been deployed to try and trace the origins of the e-mails.
An investigation is currently underway, ANI reported.
The Shiv Nadar School in Noida also received a bomb threat via e-mail, following which, the principal announced that the school will remain closed on Friday.
“Dear Parent, We have received an e-mail with a bomb threat this morning and as a precautionary measure to allow for a security sweep, the school will remain closed today, Friday, January 23, 2026,” the e-mail sent by Shiv Nadar School’s principal states.
“School buses are being sent back and parents are requested to receive their child at the designated drop-off spot. Parents may connect with the respective bus staff for real-time updates on arrival at the designated location,” it added.
Apart from Shiv Nadar school, Bal Bharati school and Cambridge School were also closed on Friday in Noida.
Cambridge School received a bomb threat via e-mail, following which, parents were alerted and asked to pick up their children as a precautionary measure.
Bal Bharati School was also put on high alert and pre-primary classes, including Nursery, LKG, and UKG, were dismissed, as reported by Hindustan Times.
However, no official reason for the high alert was shared with parents. Different sections of the school operate on different schedules, timings, and bus routes due to which, at present, students from classes 1 to 12 are still inside the school, and no message has yet received by parents regarding their dispersal.
