Mumbai: Music composer-singer Amaal Mallik, who recently appeared on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 19, shared about receiving numerous offers to play villain roles, particularly in South Indian films, following his stint on the reality show.
However, he added that he would only consider acting if he can also compose the music and background score for the film.
In an interview with Mashable Middle East, Amaal said, “Abhi toh mujhe bohot villain ke offers aa rahe hain. Ki aap villain ban jao South movie mein. So I’m saying if I am doing a movie, agar wo central character hai, to I would also like to do the score. Because I am really good at BGM. (Right now, I’m getting a lot of offers to play a villain, like ‘Why don’t you play the villain in a South movie?’ S, I want to say, if I do a movie and it’s a central character, I would also like to do the score. I’m really good at background music).”
He added, “People know me only for songs, but I have done 47 films with the biggest composers and scored for them. Hero ki entry, villain ki entry, main sab bana sakta hu. So ek condition rakhne ki koshish hogi ki jahaan main face rahunga, waha ka music and score bhi main karunga. (So, whether it’s a hero’s entry or a villain’s entry, I can handle it all. I’d like to set one condition: wherever I appear on screen, I will also do the music and score for that part).”
Citing examples of Vishal Bhardwaj and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who direct films as well as compose music for their film, Amaal said, he too wishes to act and compose music for his film.
While Gaurav Khanna bagged the ‘Bigg Boss 19’ trophy, Amaal finished as the fourth runner-up.
Amaal had grabbed headlines for his abusive language and hypocritical behavior on the show. He also faced heavy criticism over preferential treatment from Salman Khan due to his Bollywood ties. His bonding with contestant Tanya Mittal on the show had sparked dating rumours, which he later denied, by addressing her as his sister.
Later, wild card contestant Malti Chahar sparked dating rumours with Amaal by telling the other housemates that she had met the singer outside the ‘Bigg Boss’ house and he also sang songs for her.
