Vedanta Jharsuguda’s Vidyagraha Supports 200 Students Ahead Of Board Exams

Jharsuguda: Vedanta Aluminium is supporting government school students in Odisha’s Jharsuguda for their upcoming board exams through comprehensive education camps.

Organised under the aegis of its Vidyagraha initiative, four such camps were held at government high schools in the district. Through this initiative, Vedanta aims to help the students improve their exam preparation and career prospects through structured subject assessments and expert counselling.

Held at the UG High School (Siriapalli), VSS High School (Beheramal), Panchayat High School (Badmal), and Government High School (Sarbahal), the camps have benefited close to 200 students in Jharsuguda. The camps are focused on strengthening the understanding of fundamental concepts in Mathematics, Science and English, with assessments conducted in close adherence to board exam protocols. This approach has also enabled the students to familiarize themselves with exam patterns, evaluation parameters, and overall assessment process, helping build both their confidence and competence ahead of the crucial board examinations.

Under the EVP (employee volunteer programme), more than 30 employee volunteers from Vedanta Jharsuguda, were involved in career guidance and academic counselling sessions in the camps. Led by accomplished technical professionals from the company, these sessions provided the students with structured inputs on subject selection, academic pathways and career opportunities, helping students make informed decisions about their development.

Underscoring the impact of the initiative, C Chandru, CEO, Vedanta Jharsuguda said, “At Vedanta Jharsuguda, we believe that education is the foundation of long-term community development. Through our Vidyagraha initiative, we are working to strengthen academic preparedness and provide meaningful guidance to students at a crucial stage in their lives. We remain committed to creating new and innovative avenues for students to succeed.”

Sharing his experience, Joseph Rana, a Class 10 student from Siriapalli High School said, “The assessment camps helped me understand how the board exams will be conducted and where I need to improve. The career guidance sessions also gave me clarity about the subjects I should choose after Class 10. It has made me feel more confident about my exams and my future.”

Project Vidyagraha is a pioneering education initiative focused on leveraging the possibilities offered by e-learning to improve educational access in rural Odisha through structured interventions, infrastructure support, teacher trainings and student-centric programs. Since its launch in 2022, the project has delivered over 300 pre-recorded lessons in Mathematics, Science, and English, targeting more than 12,000 students across 106 government schools.
