Jeypore: A massive fire broke out at a scrap warehouse situated in front of Vikram Dev University in Jeypore town of Odisha early on Monday, causing widespread panic among residents.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick plumes of smoke rising from the warehouse at around 2 am as flames spread rapidly through the stored materials.
Firefighting teams rushed to the scene and worked tirelessly to contain the inferno. Police personnel were also deployed to manage the crowd and ensure safety in the surrounding areas.
The proximity of the fire to Vikram Dev University and National Highway heightened concerns, as students and staff feared the blaze might spread further. Authorities reassured the public that the fire has been brought under control and that preventive measures were in place to protect nearby institutions and residential areas.
