Balasore: A ginger-laden truck overturned, tumbling nearly 15 feet off the National Highway near Mathani Chhak under Basta police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district.
The vehicle was reportedly proceeding from Assam to Visakhapatnam when the accident took place late Sunday night. Locals rushed to rescue the injured driver and helper.
Sources said the truck veered off the highway before crashing down the embankment, leaving the vehicle badly mangled. The heavy load of ginger spilled across the site, adding to the chaos as locals rushed to help. Police and fire services personnel quickly reached the spot to manage the situation.
The injured driver and helper are stable after receiving treatment at a local hospital. Authorities have initiated a probe ti ascertain the cause of the accident.
