Mumbai: Actor Varun Dhawan, who was recently seen in Anurag Singh’s ‘Border 2’, is reportedly taking a long break from acting to spend quality with his family.
“Varun Dhawan is taking a long break after the release of Border 2. He is keen on spending more time with his family, especially his daughter. He is eager to take the break to be with Lara,” a source was quoted as saying by Filmfare.

The actor played the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in the sequel of JP Dutta’s 1997 cult classic ‘Border.’
However, before the film hit theatres, Varun was massively trolled for his smile in the trailer, with a section of internet users questioning his suitability for the role.
Amid reports of his break from acting, Varun will soon be seen in ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, alongside Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde.
Helmed by David Dhawan, the film was initially slated for release on June 5.
However, after the makers of ‘Toxic’ pushed the release date of the Yash starrer to June 4, the makers of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ rescheduled the film’s release date to June 12.
In an official statement, Managing Director of Tips Films, Ramesh Taurani shared, “We would like to clarify that our film – Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after recent developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.”
He added, “We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date. In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to 12th June and bring our film to the audiences a week later.”
