Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned US and Israeli forces on Thursday against launching a ground operation on Iranian soil, invoking fierce national resistance amid escalating Middle East conflict.
“Don’t send your children to hell with the deceit of Netanyahu and Trump. The invading soldiers will be deeply drowned and disappear in the million-strong sea of the Iranian nation,” the IRGC statement declared, as reported by The Economic Times.
Turning to the American public, the IRGC lambasted figures like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu for spreading “lies and distortion of battlefield realities.” It advised: “The truth of the war you must observe at American gas stations, on the streets of Iran, and in the skies of Tel Aviv and Haifa.”
This comes as a CBS News report, citing a Pentagon insider, detailed plans to dispatch units from the 82nd Airborne Division — including command elements and ground troops — to the region. Kharg Island, Iran’s vital oil terminal, emerged as a potential focus for such an operation.
The IRGC highlighted its latest strikes in Operation True Promise 4’s 81st wave, where Emad, Qiam, Khorramshahr-4, and Qadr precision missiles reportedly hit over 70 Israeli sites. According to the IRGC Public Relations Department, targets included Haifa, Dimona, Al-Khudriyya near Haifa, and areas north and south of Tel Aviv.
Issuing a stark ultimatum, the IRGC said : “Remember, we will level Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground, this is what our martyred Leader taught us.”
Since the war began, it claimed to have launched of more than 700 missiles and 3,600 drones against US-Israeli positions, with Iranian defences neutralizing over 200 enemy aircraft, cruise missiles, and jets.
On the diplomatic front, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi upheld Iran’s “resistance” doctrine against “unprovoked American-Israeli aggression,” according to Press TV, rejecting talks without solid assurances.
In a TV interview on Wednesday, he said: “At present, our policy is to continue resistance, and no negotiations have taken place.”
Araghchi clarified: “There are no negotiations underway,” doubting outside commitments.
He noted contacts from regional ministers, but affirmed: “Many foreign ministers from the region have contacted Tehran, but Iran’s position has remained ‘principled and firm’.” He further rejected “international guarantees” as untrustworthy for peace efforts.
