Bhubaneswar: To provide better commuting facilities to passengers, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to provide stoppage of some trains at different stations on an experimental basis for a period of six months with immediate effect.
Most stations in Odisha like Kalupadaghat, Kenduapada, Naraj Marthapur, Bamur, Dungripali, Soro and Belpahar; Bobbili in Andhra Pradesh will get more train stoppages. Apart from this, some trains originating and passing through its jurisdiction will also get additional stoppages beyond its jurisdiction, an ECoR press release said.

22839/22840 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Inter City Express from both the directions will stop at Naraj Marthapur w.e.f. March 9.
22831/22832 Howrah-Satyasai Prashanti Nilayam (SSPN)-Howrah Express from Howrah w.e.f. March 13 and from SSPN w.e.f. March 15 will stop at Kalupadaghat.
18645/18646 Howrah-Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express from Howrah w.e.f. March 9 and from Hyderabad w.e.f. March 8 will stop at Kenduapada.

12875/12876 Puri-Anand Vihar Terminus (New Delhi)-Puri Neelachal Express from Puri w.e.f. March 9 and from Anand Vihar w.e.f. March 8 will stop at Soro.
12879/12880 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Bhubaneswar-LTT Express from LTT w.e.f. March 13 and from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. March 14 will stop at Belpahar.
18495/18496 Rameswaram-Bhubaneswar-Rameswaram Express from Rameswaram w.e.f. March 10 and from Bhubaneswar March 8 will stop at Chidambaram.

18401/18402 Puri-Okha-Puri Express from Puri w.e.f. March 10 and from Okha w.e.f. March 6; 18405/18406 Puri-Ahmedabad-Puri Express from Puri w.e.f. March 6 and from Ahmedabad w.e.f. March 8 and 18421/18422 Puri-Ajmer-Puri Express from Puri w.e.f. March 7 and from Ajmer w.e.f. March 8 will stop at Dondalcha.
18477/18478 Puri-Haridwar-Puri Kalinga Utkal Express from both the directions w.e.f. March 8 will stop at Jalthari.
Increase in Frequency
The frequency of Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express and Villupuram-Purulia-Villupuram Express has also been increased.
18117/18118 Rourkela-Gunupur-Rourkela Rajyarani Express from Rourkela w.e.f. March 14 (except Saturday) and from Gunupur w.e.f. March 13 (except Sunday) will run daily.
Similarly, 22606/22605 Villupuram-Purulia-Villupuram Express from Villupuram w.e.f. July 3 and from Purulia w.e.f. July 4 will run twice a week instead of once in a week. However, this train will run as a special train between Hijli and Purulia from March 6 to June 26 and between Purulia & Hijli from March 8 to June 28.
Special Train Between Sambalpur & Shalimar Via Bhadrak
A tri-weekly special train will run between Sambalpur and Shalimar via Angul and Bhadrak. 08025/08026 Shalimar-Sambalpur-Shalimar Special will run from Shalimar between March 18 and June 28 on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from Sambalpur between March 19 and June 29 on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
This train from Shalimar will leave at 2155hrs and will reach Sambalpur at 1015hrs on the following day. Similarly, this train will leave Sambalpur at 2005hrs and reach Shalimar at 1000hrs the following day, having stoppages at Santragachhi, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Boinda and Rairakhol. This train has one AC-2 tier, one AC-3 tier, four Sleeper Class and six Second Class Seating.
