Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has lodged formal complaints with the Election Commission and local police against Madan Mohan Jena, a BJP supporter from Odisha, accusing him of creating and circulating derogatory, sexually abusive, and misogynistic videos aimed at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and women in the state.
Jena allegedly circulated multiple videos, containing vulgar and demeaning content that insult the dignity and modesty of women. One video reportedly features inappropriate gestures and claims that women in West Bengal would endure sexual assault for Rs 10 lakh in government benefits. Another includes an AI-generated clip purportedly showing Mamata Banerjee dancing while a man throws cash at her.
“These videos are not isolated instances, but form part of a sustained and deliberate pattern of misconduct and mischief aimed at vilifying, demeaning and defaming Mamata Banerjee’s reputation, dignity, and public image,” the India Today reported, quoting the TMC’s complaint.
The TMC leaders further alleged that Jena also made offensive comments aimed at religious groups, which could lead to law and order disturbances ahead of the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.
Jena, who operates social media accounts including an X (formerly Twitter) handle under the username ‘@bjp_forindia’, describes himself as a social media influencer with over 25,000 Instagram followers. Though the TMC has referred to him as a BJP supporter and local leader, his exact role or affiliation within the saffron party remains unclear.
