Cuttack: A youth was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at a busy market area in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Saturday.
The body of Ram Singh, a mason residing in ward number 2 at Marhatta Sahi, was found hanging in front of a chicken shop at OTM square in Choudwar.
Sources said Singh had not returned home after work on Friday night, following which his family frantically searched for him. His family has alleged foul play and dismissed his death being a suicide.
Family members said Singh went to work as usual on Friday morning. He spoke to his younger brother about purchasing a mobile phone and went home to have lunch before returning to work. He went missing in the evening and his body was found hanging from a noose outside a shop.
On being informed, a police team reached the spot and seized the body which was sent for post-mortem examination. A probe is underway to determine if it was a case of suicide or murder.
