Puri: A youth was allegedly murdered by unidentified attackers in Odisha’s Puri, sparking tension in the town.
The young man has been identified as Tapu Nayak, who was a resident of Bali Upara slum at Penthakata area near Dhobakhali in Puri.
According to sources, Tapu was brutally attacked with sharp weapons by miscreants late on Friday night. Police launched an investigation into the murder after locals spotted his body on Saturday morning. His body bore several deep injuries possibly inflicted by sharp weapons.
After being informed by locals, a police team visited the scene of the crime and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Cops are examining CCTV footage from the nearby areas to obtain vital clues related to the case. Locals are also being questions to gather leads related to the case. Efforts are on to identify and apprehend the assailants.
