Bhubaneswar: A college student was allegedly found hanging in a hostel room at Chandrasekharpur under Infocity police limits in Bhubaneswar late last night.
The deceased was a resident of Dhenkanal and a second-year MBA student at the private management institution.
According to sources, hostel authorities found her body hanging from a dupatta (scarf) and immediately informed police, which then sent it to Capital hospital for postmortem. Her family has also been informed and they are on their way to Bhubaneswar.
A case of unnatural death has been registered.
Police sources said a suicide note was found during searches in the hostel. The student’s mobile phone and other gadgets have been seized for further analysis and to gather crucial clues. Her friends, batchmates, roommates, and other hostel residents are also being questioned to understand her mental state and any potential stressors leading up to the incident.
