Cuttack: The driver of a Hyva died on the spot after the vehicle crashed into a truck at Athagarh town in Odisha’s Cuttack district early on Saturday morning.
According to sources, a Hyva loaded with stone chips was travelling from Dhenkanal to Choudwar. At Oranda overbridge under Gurudijhatia police limits in Athagarh, the heavy vehicle rammed into an iron rod laden truck was parked on the side of the road. The impact of the collision was so severe, that the driver of the Hyva truck died on the spot.
Gurudijhatia police along with fire services team from Athagarh reached the accident site. Fire services personnel used a machine cutter to recover the body of the Hyva driver from the debris. An investigation into exact cause of the accident is underway.
