Bhubaneswar: Microsoft Excel faced ire of agitated people for sharing the same last name as Surf Excel detergent. People have rated the popular spreadsheet app negative thinking it to be the Unilever brand on Play Store bringing the overall rating down.
Surf Excel had made a Holi commercial on Hindu-Muslim religious harmony that soon drew flak on social media for allegedly promoting anti-Hindu sentiments. While most people took to Twitter and Facebook to voice their dissatisfaction, some asked Microsoft to take the ad down with disturbing ‘anti-Hindu’ and ‘anti-India’ comments.
