Bhawanipatna: A woman died and six others were injured after an SUV crashed into a tree near Gungunia square under Jayapatna police limits in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Minurani Sahu of Managalpur village in Jayapatna tehsil.

According to sources, the accident took place when six people along with their driver were returning to their native village from a wedding last night. Locals rescued all six before informing police. They were admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Jayapatna. Minurani, wife of Purnachandra Sahu, was declared dead upon arrival.
Jayapatna police have seized the vehicle, whose front portion was damaged in the crash, and launched an investigation.
