Bhadrak: In view of intense heatwave conditions, the administration in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Wednesday ordered the closure of all Anganwadi centres till May 31.
Officials said the move aims at ensuring the safety and health of preschool children amid extreme weather conditions. The temporary closure is a precautionary measure, reflecting the administration’s commitment to child welfare during severe heat.
This apart, the district administration has instructed that dry ration be delivered directly to children’s homes during closure of Anganwadi centres. This ensures that nutritional support continues uninterrupted even as Anganwadi centres remain shut.
Though pre-school activities will remain suspended temporarily, all other regular programs and services at the centres will continue in accordance with government guidelines, sources said.
Detailed instructions have been issued to all sub-collectors, DSWOs, and CDPOs to facilitate the smooth implementation of this plan. Families are urged to cooperate with local authorities during this period.
