Balasore: In a violent incident, a youth allegedly stabbed his former girlfriend’s mother and maternal uncle with a sharp weapon at Sahadevkhunta railway station in Odisha’s Balasore.
According to preliminary information, the girl, along with her mother and maternal uncle, had gone to meet her former boyfriend, Jatin Pradhan, for a settlement regarding their relationship.
During the discussion, a heated argument broke out between both parties and Jatin reportedly turned violent.
Sources said Jatin allegedly attacked his girlfriend’s mother and uncle with a sharp weapon, causing them serious injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition and later shifted to a hospital in Cuttack.
The accused reportedly tried to flee the spot on his motorcycle following the incident but he was caught by the police.
Investigation into the incident is in progress to ascertain the circumstances that led to the violent attack by the man.
