Bhubaneswar: In a scaring incident, a youth was critically injured after being allegedly chased and hacked with a sword on the road in broad daylight in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place in Samantpur area under the jurisdiction of Lingaraj Police Station of the city.
The victim, identified as Deepak, was rushed to Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar with critical word injuries. He was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Kataka as his health condition worsened.
After receiving information about the incident, a team from Lingaraj police reached the spot and launched an investigation.
According to preliminary reports, the incident was suspected to have been triggered by a family dispute. However, police said that the real reason behind the incident would be ascertained after a thorough probe.
In a similar incident, miscreants stormed a house and attacked a woman and her son over a trivial issue two days ago. A shocking incident took place in the Balipatna police station area. Both injured were admitted to the Capital Hospital for treatment.
