Chennai: A week after the controversy surrounding Udhayanidhi Stalin erupted, Trisha Krishnan returned to Instagram, initially to celebrate her grandmother’s 98th birthday. However, her cryptic posts quickly caught the attention of social media users.
The actor shared a series of Instagram Stories, including one that read, “Drama at this age is embarrassing… Go make some money and find peace.”
Although Trisha did not mention anyone by name, the post led fans to speculate that it was an indirect response to the ongoing controversy.
In another Story, which she re-shared with an evil eye emoji, Trisha wrote, “What a privilege it is to be overwhelmed by a life you once prayed for.” The cryptic messages have since sparked discussion among her followers.
However, Trisha’s return to Instagram appeared to be primarily about celebrating her maternal grandmother’s 98th birthday.
The actor shared pictures from the family celebration, including a photo of her mother and another family member or friend posing with the birthday girl.
The pictures also featured Trisha’s pet Izzy as the family gathered for the special occasion.
Dressed in a purple saree, Trisha’s grandmother looked happy as she celebrated her milestone birthday surrounded by loved ones.
An almond cake topped with golden candles added to the festivities.
Meanwhile, Trisha’s mother, Uma Krishnan Ganapathy, also shared a cryptic post titled “Last one best one.”
The post listed a series of reminders, including, “Do workouts, do skincare, smell nice, drink water, make money, be nice to people, mind your business.”
Earlier this month, Stalin found himself at the centre of controversy following an alleged double-entendre remark during a protest over the Cauvery water issue.
The incident reportedly took place after some people in the gathering began chanting Trisha’s name.
Udhayanidhi allegedly responded with a remark that drew laughter, hoots and jeers from the crowd. He later clarified that he was referring to the Cauvery water issue.
Following the incident, Udhayanidhi was detained and questioned for nearly an hour at Sengipatti Police Station in Thanjavur district.
As a video of the incident circulated widely online, the women’s wing of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) approached the Thanjavur Police with a complaint, alleging that Udhayanidhi had made a double-entendre remark targeting Trisha.
The DMK, meanwhile, rejected the interpretation of his remarks, stating that they had been taken out of context.
The party maintained that Udhayanidhi was referring to the government’s functioning and had not targeted any individual.
