New Delhi: The inquiry committee report on Justice Yashwant Varma was tabled in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
Removal proceedings were initiated over the alleged discovery of unaccounted cash from his official residence.
Secretary general P C Mody tabled the two-volume report. He also presented oral and documentary evidence. The report was submitted by a three-member panel to Speaker OM Birla in May, reported HT.
The Speaker had set up the inquiry committee on August 12 last year to probe the alleged recovery of cash from his Delhi bungalow.
When a fire had broken out in the official residence of Justice Varma in March 14, firefighters had discovered the burnt currency in a storeroom.
Justice Varma has since resigned. His resignation, however, has not yet been notified by the law ministry.
Justice Varma was a judge of the Delhi High Court. He was repatriated to his parent court, the Allahabad High Court after the cash controversy.
