Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) said on Saturday that its official Instagram handle was briefly taken down before the movement managed to restore access, with founder Abhijeet Dipke accusing Meta of silencing the group on Independence Day.
Dipke posted screenshots on X showing the CJP page as unavailable and wrote, “They took down the official Instagram handle of Cockroach Janta Party. Bloody cowards!” The images displayed a “user not found” message, which he attributed to action by Meta.
Account ‘Recovered’, CJP Hits Back
The CJP’s X account later said, “CJP Instagram handle was taken down this morning. But we have been able to successfully recover the account,” adding that those opposing the movement had “choos[en] India’s Independence Day to try to muzzle our voice”. It added, “We will not be intimidated by such cowardly acts!”
When Dipke Said His Account Was ‘Hacked’
In May, Dipke had claimed his personal Instagram was “hacked” and that he could not access it, while also alleging that Meta removed a backup CJP account. “@Meta, I have lost access to my Instagram account. Trying to recover it but unable to,” he had written on X at the time.
‘School Thik Karo’ To Begin In Hingoli
The party is set to roll out its “School Thik Karo” campaign on Saturday (August 15) from Santuk Pimpri village in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district, aiming to push for better infrastructure and accountability in rural government schools, as reported by Hindustan Times.
After returning from Delhi, Dipke told reporters, “I will commence the ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign in my village and request the sarpanch there to repair the local government school and make sure that the school has the basic amenities like benches and drinking water.”
He said: “We have formed teams who will visit villages and request people and sarpanchs to take steps to improve the condition of schools, because we want to get this done with everyone’s participation.”
An official release on Friday said the launch was scheduled for 7:30am in Santuk Pimpri. Dipke also urged citizens to inspect their children’s schools and inform CJP if any facilities or requirements were missing.
