Bhubaneswar: A car went on a rampage on Bhubaneswar-Puri National Highway near Pipili early on Wednesday morning, triggering a series of accidents causing the death of a biker and a bull.
According to preliminary reports, the car which was proceeding towards Bhubaneswar from Puri broke through the barricades at the Pipili toll plaza and continued to move towards the capital city.
While moving at a high speed, the vehicle allegedly hit a bull and later dashed against a motorcycle at Pamsarashidi, killing the biker as well as the animal.
The incident triggered panic among the commuters on the highway and locals.
While police have seized the car involved in the accident, the driver was reported to have fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle.
Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
