Mumbai: Rubina Dilaik has criticised Asim Riaz over his alleged behaviour on ‘Battleground’, recalling how the reality star would speak rudely to the show’s creative team.
The actress also accused him of using abusive language towards the crew and questioned his claims about being responsible for the success of reality shows.
Recalling Asim’s behaviour on the sets of ‘Battleground’ Season 1, Rubina referred to him as a “nuisance value” and said, “He claimed that he was the TRP on the shows, for him Bigg Boss became such a hit, and Khatron Ke Khiladi became hyped. Because of him, Battleground was this… really? Jis thaali mein khata hain uss thaali mein thukta hain (He spits on the same plate from where he eats). Woh itni badtameezi se creatives se baat karta tha mujhe genuinely bohot bura lagta hai (The horrible way in which he used to speak to creatives, it really hurt me).”
She added, “The show on which I am working, I will always respect the team that makes it work in the first place. They are my family. How can anyone question them and abuse them so many times? Everyone used to make him understand… unfortunately, a reality show, and where is he today?”
Asim Riaz has yet to respond to Rubina’s comments.
He rose to fame as the first runner-up of ‘Bigg Boss 13’ in 2019 and later took on the role of team captain and mentor on the fitness reality series ‘Battleground’ on Amazon MX Player.
Asim was also removed from ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’ following a heated confrontation with host Rohit Shetty and fellow contestants, including Abhishek Kumar.
The controversy erupted after Asim failed to complete a stunt and blamed the production and safety teams for the outcome. He later lashed out at the other contestants, calling them “losers.”
Asim has also been in the spotlight over his recent comments about his fallout with ex-girlfriend Himanshi Khurana.
After denying allegations that he pressured Himanshi to change her religion, the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ star claimed that she had wanted to give their relationship another chance and had evidence to support his statement.
Himanshi has since responded to his remarks, asserting that she has enough evidence of her own and will not remain silent if he continues to make statements that she believes damage her image.
